The NeuroSaclay initiative regrouping Neuro-PSI, UNIC and NeuroSpin is pleased to announce that the 2017 edition of
The Neuroscience Workshop Saclay (NeWS) will be held at the Imagif Conference Center, CNRS Building 21,
Gif-Sur-Yvette Center on the 8th and 9th of June 2017, focusing on :

Neural circuits and behavior : from cells to connectivity and function.

The conference will be held at the conference centre (Imagif ) of the Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell (I2BC) in Gif-Sur-Yvette, accessible from the RER B, 30 km south of Paris.

Registration is now open :

- See the poster NeWS2017

On this website you will also find all the detailed program and all information regarding the event.

This year, discussions will center around the exciting question of the neural basis of behavior, from the cellular to the brain architecture scales. The conference will host 9 top plenary speakers working on topics ranging from the specification and function of individual cell-types, to the construction, organization and plasticity of connectivity diagrams and their significance in elaborating behaviors in health and disease :

- Valérie Castellani (INMG, Lyon, France)

- Tobias Donner (University of Hamburg, Germany)

- Mark Hübener (MPI-Martinsried, Germany)

- Stephen Goodwin (University of Oxford)

- Andreas Nieder (University of Tübingen, Germany)

- Russell Poldrack (Stanford, USA)

- Alejandro Schinder (Leloir Institute, Argentina)

- Fekrije Selimi (CIRB, Paris)

- Ian Wickersham (MIT, USA)

There is no registration fee, but online registration is required (max. 200 participants).

Abstract submission deadline : April 30th, 2017.

In addition, the central idea of the NeWS conference is to open the stage to junior scientists, postdocs and students. Therefore the conference will also feature short talks (10 minutes + question) and 2 interactive poster sessions, interleaved with the plenary lectures. Young researchers are therefore encouraged to submit an abstract following registration. Eight abstracts will be selected for short talks, and other accepted abstracts will be presented as posters. Note that prizes will be awarded for the best young researcher poster presentations !
