The NeuroSaclay initiative regrouping Neuro-PSI, UNIC and NeuroSpin is pleased to announce that the event
The Neuroscience Workshop Saclay (NeWS) will be reconducted in 2017 on the theme :
« Neural circuits and behavior : from cells to connectivity and function »
to be held at the Imagif Conference Center, CNRS Building 21,
Gif-Sur-Yvette Center in June 8-9.
The Imagif Conference Center is located in Gif-Sur-Yvette, accessible from the RER B, 30 km south of Paris.
The NEuroscience Workshop Saclay (NeWS) is a scientific event organized for and by young scientists, students and postdocs in neuroscience at the Paris Saclay campus. This event is sponsored by the NeuroSaclay initiative which fosters exchange between the Neuroscience Institutes of the Paris Saclay campus.
This 2-day meeting aims at bringing together scientists of the NeuroSaclay area, this year around the exciting question of the neural basis of behavior, from the cellular to the brain architecture scales. This will thus cover a large array of interests among our research groups, ranging from the specification and function of individual cell-types, to the construction, organization and plasticity of connectivity diagrams and their significance in elaborating behaviors in health and disease.
The central idea of the NeWS conference is to open the stage to junior local scientists, postdocs and students, who will get the opportunity to
i) organize the conference, and
ii) contribute with posters or short selected talks interleaving plenary lectures given by external senior scientists.
Therefore, we are seeking a group of roughly 10 people to form the organization committee. As last year, this will be a highly enriching and fun experience : we will divide the organizational workforce, will have concerted discussions for establishing a great program, all this in a nice and sociable atmosphere. All young researchers, postdocs and students of Neuro-PSI, UNIC and NeuroSpin are encouraged to jump on board and bring their ideas and energy to make this meeting most exciting to all the NeuroSaclay community.
